Explore the estuarine marshes of the Siuslaw and contribute to habitat improvements by joining us for a litter cleanup on Saturday April 29th, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Volunteers will be transported in groups via boat from the Port of Siuslaw Campground to a conservation area near Florence. The islands and marshes you will visit provide valuable habitat to numerous aquatic and terrestrial plants and animal species, but due to their remote nature they receive little maintenance. We will collect litter and our trusty captains will shuttle the waste to the Port.
Registration is required. Participants must be willing to sign a liability waiver. Participants must also be able to enter and exit a boat from the shore and must be able to navigate the muddy and uneven surfaces of marshland. Water, snacks, tools, and safety gear will be provided. Wearing mud boots and bringing sunscreen is recommended. Please meet at the Port Campground by 9:45.
