Each year we provide thousands of free native plants, host field trips for hundreds of local students, and restore critical habitat throughout the Siuslaw and Coastal Lakes basins.

Your contribution makes it possible.

End of Year Donations 2024

This year up to $10,000 worth of donations will be matched from a generous donation by the Greene-Goehring trust throug the end of 2024. Your donations go towards our mission of working together to steward the lands and waters of the Siuslaw and Coastal Lakes to benefit our communities, economy, environment and future generations – work that we can accomplish with your support.

SWC Wishlist
Donations of any amount are gratefully accepted; our staff have compiled a wish list for those that may wish to earmark a donation for a specific item or fund.
$30 – Waterproof phone cases for our field crew: Our staff use their personal phones for work, including spawning ground surveys, riparian planting, and other tasks that pose the constant risk of a thorough soaking. Proper protective cases can ensure they don’t damage their personal devices in the field.
$215 – Personal rain boots, work boots, or rain gear for our field crew: Grants do not commonly cover this type of gear necessary for work in the field, performed at all times of year in all weather conditions. Due to the intensity of the work, gear wears out fast, requiring frequent replacement.
$483 – Sponsor a camper: Cover the cost for SWC to host a camper at our summer programming! Each year SWC provides a week long summer program for 50 fourth through eighth grade students, and additional overnight programming for 10-15 high school students. Campers explore the watershed, participating in activities such as canoeing and kayaking, native plant crafting, jig tying, fishing, and sandboarding.
$500 – Cellphone booster for crew truck: Extending accessibility to cellular reception would further assist our staff working in remote areas, providing for easier communication in the event of an emergency and increasing overall workplace safety.
$600 – Tool chest: SWC has a large collection of tools to maintain our equipment, along with spare parts, grease, spark plugs, and more. Currently, however, we have no proper place to store and organize them. A wheeled tool chest would assist greatly with organization and ease of access, helping prevent the otherwise inevitable scramble for that one wrench size that always seems to be missing.
$720 – Adobe Suite license, 1 year: Communications is a critical part of the operations of SWC, and the costs of the necessary programs add up. Donations to cover these costs give our staff the tools they need to complete their work.
$1500 - Office laptop: Laptops are an essential tool for SWC to continue our work, and are not commonly provided for by grant funding.
Any amount – Truck Fund: Our crew truck allows us to traverse all corners of our watershed for any task we may be called upon to perform; from hauling kayaks and canoes for a day on the lake with our summer camp attendees to carrying hundreds of potted stock for restoration planting. Such a heavily used vehicle inevitably requires ongoing maintenance, pulled from our truck fund. Any amount donated to this fund helps ensure that our crew truck is properly maintained and cared for so it may continue to serve us for years to come.
